About Us…

Ascalon Canine Care is a small business based in Little Bealings, Suffolk run by Helen and husband Chris. Helen is a registered Clinical Animal Behaviourist (CAB, CCAB). Fully Trained Advanced Canine Behaviourist, holding a BSc (Hons) in Applied Animal Behaviour, a Level 6 Diploma in Advanced Canine Behaviour, a Level 5 Diploma as a dog Behaviour Practitioner. Being passionate about animal welfare our vision was to create a safe loving environment in which your pets can spend time enjoying themselves. We are licensed and inspected by East Suffolk Council and have a ‘Five Star Rating’. Whether you require daycare, boarding or experiencing behaviour problems we are here to help and support you all the way.

What Happens at Ascalon?

Firstly we have a fully trained advanced canine behaviourist on-site and looking after just a small number of dogs we quickly bond and build trust. This is so important for all dogs. All in a safe enviroment where your dog is made to feel part of our family!

We believe ‘enrichment’ is equally important for a dogs mental health and wellbeing. For dogs enjoying full day care or holiday boarding we set aside time with your dog providing opportunities to exercise their bodies and minds with a variety of skills such as problem-solving, confidence and searching.

Offering Full Day Care!

With today’s modern life more and more people are working from home but still find it difficult to spend the time they would wish with their pets. We recognise this and offer full day care.

Offering Full Daycare going out for a countryside walk in Suffolk or adventure to the coast followed by important down time. In between times are filled with play and enrichment. If your dog is Boarding with us they will enjoy the same routine as day care, board in our dedicated building which is heated with comfy beds, individual feed and water areas, security camera monitored and ‘Smart’ smoke monitored for peace of mind. Not forgetting the comfy spot under our stairs too!

We Offer Puppy Day Care Too

Puppy Care is offered from 6 months old, we don’t offer puppy training classes but what we do offer is to take the greatest care of your new family member at times when you can’t and continue reinforcing their new life skills. When at Ascalon Canine Care your puppy will initially receive one to one attention and gradually be introduced to other older dogs that enjoy the company of puppies. They will go out for a short walk, enjoy playtime, but more importantly we continue teaching and practising their new learnt skills like sit, down, leave, recall and touch ‘body desensitising’. This helps them become confident, sociable, and better balanced.

Planning for Holiday Boarding?

We also offer ‘Holiday Boarding’ for when you are unable to take your dogs with you. This decision is never taken lightly as our pets are family. Our aim is to make your dog feel part of our family and to give them a holiday they can remember too! Spaces are limited offering a very personal service to just a few dogs so we recommend planning and booking in advance.
