About us…

Ascalon Canine Care is a small business ran by Helen and husband Chris in Suffolk. Helen is a fully trained advanced canine behaviourist, holds a BSc (Hons) in Applied Animal Behaviour, a Level 6 Diploma in Advanced Canine Behaviour, a Level 5 Diploma as a dog Behaviour Practitioner. Being passionate about animal welfare our vision was to create a safe loving environment in which your pets can spend time enjoying themselves. Whether you require daycare, boarding or experiencing behaviour problems we are here to help and support you all the way.

Helen and I have always had dogs in our lives since being young children at home and later on with our own family. We had four dogs up until recently, two French Bulldogs and two Border Collies. Sadly both our Frenchies have crossed the rainbow bridge but are forever part of our family.

Between us we have many years experience with dogs. Helen has attended a variety of dog behaviour and training presentations, helped run puppy classes and worked within the rehoming/rescue centre environment, liaising with in-house behaviour teams and veterinary staff. I’ve managed my own dog walking business for several years working with a variety of different breeds, old and young providing them with necessary exercise and enrichment to suit their needs.

We believe ‘enrichment’ is equally important for a dog’s mental health and wellbeing. For dogs enjoying full day care or holiday boarding we set aside time on a one to one basis with your dog providing opportunities to exercise their bodies and minds with a variety of techniques such as problem-solving, confidence and searching.
