DAY CARE

Fun Filled Days

Why Ascalon?

Firstly we have a fully trained advanced canine behaviourist on-site and being a small business we are able to provide and give our full attention to just a small number of dogs. All in a homely safe environment where your dog will be made to feel part of our family.

We always offer a healthy balance of exercise, play, mental stimulation, enrichment and rest.

We believe ‘Enrichment’ is equally important for a dogs mental health and wellbeing . For dogs enjoying full day care or holiday boarding we set aside time on a one to one basis with your dog providing opportunities to exercise their bodies and minds with a variety of skills such as problem-solving, confidence and searching.

We assess and tailor your dog’s day dependant on their age, nature and energy levels.

Every dog that comes to Ascalon Canine Care has a daily walk either in the countyside or an adventure to the coast. Our daily routine allows ‘down time’ as this is equally important.

Offering half day and full day care!

Day care from 8.00am to 6pm Half day from 8.00am to 1pm

With today’s modern life more people are working from home but still find it difficult to spend the time they would wish with their pet. We recognise this and want to offer half day care at Ascalon too!

Afternoon periods we encourage play and enrichment activities in the garden, such as scent work, hide and seek, puzzle-feeders. Perhaps learning some new tricks with reward based training too!

Warmer summer months walks are kept to shady woodland areas and play activities available such as a dog pool or cool down with quick shower.

Wetter, colder months we have a dedicated building which is heated with comfy beds for dogs that might fancy some down time. Getting muddy outdoors isn’t a problem either. They are showered and spend time drying off always keeping warm comfortable.

Health and wellbeing, physically and mentally, always come first. All gates, doors are locked and the garden area is fully fenced keeping the environment safe at all times. Our dedicated building is heated with individual comfy beds and feed stations, security camera monitored direct to our mobiles and also has a ‘smart’ smoke detector alerting our mobile should any problem arise.

All doggie play time is supervised by Helen or Chris. We walk a maximum of 4 client’s dogs at anytime and initially keep them all on lead. We feel this is safer and important to give your dog the attention they need. This ensures we build up trust and bond with them quickly.

Keeping a close eye on all our canine customers enables us to make them feel part of the family and any new or worrying behaviours will be noticed giving you peace of mind.

We also offer puppy day care too. Those first few months are so important teaching and giving your puppy the life skills it will need to be happy, safe and confident. We don’t offer puppy training classes but we do offer is to take the greatest care of your new family member at times when you can’t and continue reinforcing their new life skills like sit, down, leave, recall and touch ‘body desensitising’.

Whats next?

We offer an initial free, no obligation consultation at Ascalon Canine Care. Giving you the chance to meet us without your dog, ask any further questions you may have and discuss any specific requirements you or your dog may have. At the end of this first meeting we will give you a registration and booking consent form to be completed and sent back to us.

The next step is to book a day and time for you to drop off your dog so we can meet them. In this time we would go for a short walk on lead to assess them, and introduce them to Ascalon’s homely environment to see how they settle. At the end of the day we discuss how your dog/s got on. This would be the point at which we would organise making regular bookings or boarding for your dog/s.

We will always be honest with the owner if their dog is not happy or enjoying their stay as this daycare and sociable environment isn’t always suited to every dog, so please don’t be offended if your dog is refused.
