About Us
Welcome to Ascalon Canine Care
Ascalon Canine Care is a small business run by Helen and her husband Chris in Little Bealings, Suffolk. Helen is a fully trained Advanced Canine Behaviourist and holds a BSc (Hons) in Applied Animal Behaviour, a Level 6 Diploma in Advanced Canine Behaviour, and a Level 5 Diploma as a Dog Behaviour Practitioner.
Being passionate about animal welfare, our vision was to create a safe, loving environment where your pets can spend time enjoying themselves. We are licensed and inspected by East Suffolk Council and have a Five Star Rating. Whether you require daycare, boarding, holiday boarding or support with behaviour problems, we are here to help you every step of the way.
Our Experience
We have both had dogs in our lives since childhood, and later with our own family. Over the years we have shared our home with two French Bulldogs and two Border Collies. Sadly, both our Frenchies have crossed the rainbow bridge, although we have recently welcomed Martha into our lives — a beautiful little rescue Frenchie who is four years old.
Between us, we have many years of experience caring for dogs. Helen has attended a variety of dog behaviour and training presentations, helped run puppy classes, and worked within the rehoming and rescue centre environment, liaising with in-house behaviour teams and veterinary staff. Helen now runs the behaviour side of our business.
Chris has managed his own dog boarding and walking business for several years, working with a wide variety of breeds, both young and old. He provides dogs with the exercise, enrichment and care they need, and now runs the daycare and boarding side of the business.
Enrichment and Wellbeing
We believe enrichment is equally important for a dog’s mental health and wellbeing. For dogs enjoying full day care or holiday boarding, we set aside time to provide opportunities to exercise both their bodies and minds through problem-solving, confidence-building and searching activities.
Please do get in touch with us for help with daycare, boarding, holiday boarding and behaviour issues.
