Day Care
Fun-Filled Days for Your Dog
Why Choose Ascalon?
Firstly, we have a fully trained Canine Behaviourist on-site and, as a small business, we are able to provide our full attention to a limited number of dogs. We are licensed and inspected by East Suffolk Council and have achieved a Five Star Rating.
Everything takes place in a safe, secure environment where your dog is made to feel part of our family.
We provide a healthy balance of exercise, play, mental stimulation, enrichment and rest. Every dog's day is tailored to their age, personality and energy levels.
We believe enrichment is equally important for a dog's mental health and wellbeing. We set aside time each day to provide opportunities for problem-solving, confidence-building and scent-based activities that exercise both body and mind.
What Does a Day at Ascalon Look Like?
Every dog that comes to Ascalon Canine Care enjoys a daily countryside walk or an adventure to the Suffolk coast. Just as importantly, our routine includes plenty of downtime for rest and relaxation.
During the afternoon we encourage supervised play and enrichment activities such as:
- Scent work and searching games
- Hide and seek
- Puzzle feeders
- Confidence-building exercises
- Reward-based training and learning new tricks
Full Day Care
Available Monday to Friday
8:00am – 6:00pm
With modern life becoming increasingly busy, many people work from home yet still struggle to provide the level of attention, stimulation and exercise they would like for their dogs. Our full-day care service helps bridge that gap.
Comfort in Every Season
During the warmer months, walks are planned in shaded woodland areas and dogs can enjoy cooling activities such as paddling pools and refreshing showers.
During colder and wetter weather, dogs have access to our dedicated heated building complete with comfortable beds for rest and relaxation. Muddy paws are never a problem — dogs are dried off and kept warm and comfortable throughout the day.
Safety and Peace of Mind
Health and wellbeing, both physical and mental, always come first.
- Secure, fully fenced outdoor areas
- Locked gates and access points
- Heated indoor accommodation
- Individual beds and feeding stations
- Security camera monitoring
- Smart smoke detection system
All play sessions and activities are supervised by Helen or Chris. We walk a maximum of four client dogs at any one time and initially keep all dogs on lead while trust and familiarity are established.
This close supervision allows us to quickly build strong bonds with our canine guests and identify any changes in behaviour, giving owners complete peace of mind.
Getting Started
We offer a free, no-obligation consultation at Ascalon Canine Care. This gives you the opportunity to meet us, ask questions and discuss any specific requirements you or your dog may have.
Following the consultation, we will provide our registration and booking consent forms for completion.
The next step is a trial visit, where we spend time getting to know your dog. We will take them on a short lead walk, introduce them to our home-from-home environment and assess how they settle.
At the end of the day, we will discuss how your dog has got on and, if everyone is happy, arrange future daycare or boarding bookings.
We will always be honest if we feel our environment is not the right fit for your dog. Not every dog enjoys a social daycare setting, and their welfare will always be our priority.
